Without both reason and senses we would not be able to learn all of the reality in the world. Kantian Structuralism is the view point I have decided on out of the four different view points to describes me best. Kantian Structuralism is a combination of both rationalism and empiricism, which is the use of both our senses and reason to find truth and knowledge. We need our senses to learn from the world around us. We use our sense of hearing to distinguish sounds from each other, if we were trying to cross a street and couldn‘t see beyond a truck blocking our view we could hear the sound of a horn or a car driving that would help us know to wait. If we woke in the middle of the night and the room we were in was too dark to see the smell of smoke would help us recognize trouble and that our house was on fire. We use our sight to take in the world around us, to see if there is a giant puddle in the way of our usual path to the café so we don’t end up with shoes soaking wet. We need our sense of touch to recognize pain and heat, to help us when we need to test how hot the milk is in the bottle we made for our child. Platonic dualist says that the true form exists in a place that is beyond our universe or time. This idea doesn’t make much sense to me because of the other views previously discussed. I can feel, taste, and smell and apple letting me know It exists, and I can this with reason what would happen if I was to cut an apple and leave it out to long. Because of this I can’t imagine that the world around me is nothing but an imperfect copy of something that exists beyond even our
