Katherine O’Flaherty was born February 8, in St. Louis. She was the second child.
Her father was an Irish merchant and she was the daughter of women belong to French family . She was speak two language French and English. When her husband died she began to write . She wrote around two published novels and wrote a hundred short stories in the 1890s. Her short stories were published by some of America’s most prestigious magazines. Her fiction is set in Louisiana and her best-known work concentrate on lives of sensitive, intelligent women. She wrote Bayou Folk in 1884 and a night Acadie in 1897.
