In the commercial/ad killer queen by Katy Perry they are obviously trying to sell her product which in this ad it's her new perfume. But in reality, I feel like it's something much deeper than that the product itself is selling a lifestyle, a type of persona and also arrogances to one’s self. They do this my emphasizing the power that Katy Perry has this could be shown by her body language and demeanor Katy Perry demonstrates. I feel a reason they might of did it this way is because she’s the main focus of this ad so who else would be better in possess these characteristics in order to sell what they want. Another commercial I'm drawn to most often are the ones that tend to move me emotionally using pathos and connecting with me on an emotional level with whatever they are trying to sell. While analyzing some outside sources of Katy Perry’s perfume it's obvious that the use pathos a lot to make us connect with what they want. Perhaps the most important element in this advertising is the ‘are you cool enough?’ factor. This perfume is designed can make you think that by wearing “Killer Queen” you will smell like ‘royalty’ and stands out from any normal person. Her fame and her status in the advertisement is powerful, and with this perfume you could be as well. This ad is definitely designed to question whether you are cool enough for the product.
