He was born on October 20, 1971 in Long Beach, California he was given the name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. He grew up in the bad part of Long Beach, California, where in 1976 he met his lifelong friend Warren Griffin III. They were both raised in the ‘hood by single mothers. Snoop’s mother loved old school R&B, Snoop once said “and if the radio wasn’t playing what she liked, she’d play it herself from a collection of funky old eight-track she kept in the living room.
