I thought that Kevin Costner did a great job summarizing the connection he had with Whitney Huston. Having an experience of being an actor gave him an advantage at making the speech more exciting for others to listen to. He gave a great speech that incorporated pathos and ethos into it. From the moment I clicked play, I was entirely engaged. I liked the idea and plot he started at the beginning and took to the end. I felt affected emotionally throughout the speech; therefore, it is effective. Kevin Costner made a connection for other people that could not have given a better speech.

The person recording Kevin’s speech had the perfect angle and zoomed in enough that the viewer could clearly see Kevin and the choir behind him. This helped to see his facial reactions and define the mood and audience that was in the room. Kevin did a good job at keeping his gestures to a minimum, but doing a really good job with the ones he incorporated to make them the most effective. Kevin could have improved on his eye contact. Eye contact is a big goal for me to fulfill, and will take a great effort to improve over the semester.

I will use similar example that fulfill the required four paragraphs. Kevin Costner’s speech did a good job covering all the four elements that are required.

At the beginning of his speech Kevin said, “Whitney returns home today.” This line helped to ensure that everyone felt comforted at the beginning of the service. It confronted that Whitney had died.
