Alexander the Great Alexander the great, was a great and powerful leader. “Born in Mesopotamia in the year 356 B.C” (BGE) . His father Philip of Macedonia and his mother Olympia hired philosopher Aristotle academic subjects to prepare him to become the king. Philip was assassinated in 336 B.C and Alexander took over. Was Alexander great? Alexander was a great leader because of three main characteristics. These characteristics are military intelligence, his remarkable achievements, and his leadership skills. Alexander first great characteristics is military intelligence. Because he has won so many battles from his tactics. One of his achievements is how he took over the persian empire which was one of the biggest empires back them. After he took over the persian empire he had a bigger army and he also had a huge empire. Alexander builds a bridge across to an enemy island while fighting them and he successfully got across and won control of the place, “Alexander proceeded to build a bridge so that his soldier can get on the island” (Doc C) .And because of this he was one of the biggest achievers in history and made some great achievements.
Alexander third and last reason good characteristic is leadership skills. One of the main reasons that he was great is because of his amazing leadership skills and how he kept his large empire together and in order. After he took over persia the persians were mad at him but them he made them like him.
