In Luke’s gospel Luke illustrates Jesus as compassionate for the poor and oppressed. Luke’s Key themes in his gospel are family, love, women and femininity, sins and forgiveness, fate and free will and these themes also show some of the Catholic Church’s teaching on the importance of understanding human dignity even in our world today. Each of these themes help us to see what Luke thought of Jesus. Luke’s gospel also shows us some of the causes of injustice that Jesus challenged and shows the compassion Jesus had for the poor and oppressed in his time.
Luke’s gospel shows many different themes these include family, love, women and femininity, sins and forgiveness, fate and free will these themes show everything Jesus and the Catholic Church stand for. Each of these themes shows different aspects of everyday life now. Luke sees that Jesus reached out to everyone especially the poor, marginalize, oppressed and women. Luke emphasizes that God is the forgiving father who coasts us his children with an unbreakable bond of love and Luke sees that Jesus is following in his father’s footsteps. 21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. 22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[a]are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 23 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
