King Kamehameha I Every legend has a beginning; King Kamehameha was born to surpass the preceding chiefs. On the night of his birth he was hidden away to protect his life. Eventually the boy would become the king who would become the one to unite most of the Hawaiian islands. From the battle of Nu'uanu to the moving of the Naha stone, Kamehameha's legend has been set in stone as the greatest chief of Hawaii as he was destined for greatness, he united the islands, and his descendants would change Hawaii's course in history. Kamehameha was destined to become great, even before birth Kamehameha was foretold to be the greatest chief. Kamehameha's birth was a danger to the other chiefs. Kekuiapoiwa (Kamehameha's Mother) knew of the danger and hid him away for five years, his legend began even before birth, Kamehameha scared the chiefs at the time proving he was a threat to the throne, he was a danger to the ruling chiefs. It seemed that the young king to be was favored not only by the odds but also the gods who protected him from his enemies. KK2 overthrew the Kapu system, KK4 sold land, which would affect the daily lives of the Hawaiians at the time, etc. King Kamehameha left a lineage after he conquered the islands. His son's changes were possible because Kamehameha united the islands giving the Kamehameha family line powerful. King Kamehameha changed the course of history with his unification. Hawaii would be completely different if Kamehameha hadn't united the islands. Kamehameha was the catalyst for the Hawaiian island change over time.
