King Ramses II Egypt is a far away country in North-East Africa. The people of Egypt are very poor but the pharaoh and his family live comfortably inside a nice cool palace. During the reign of King Seti I and his royal wife queen Tuya, King Ramses perhaps one of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs was born to them on the year of 1303 B.C. King Ramses II also called Ramesses the great wasn’t actually king Seti’s I first born son, he had an older brother that died at age sixteen. Ramses was fourteen at the time. He experienced many battles with his father, and was a genius when it came to war, and when he was ten his father crowned him with the title “first commander of the army.” at age fifteen Ramses married his first and most favourite wife Nefertiti. Without the help of his father he set out and fought against the Sheldon Sea pirates and made them turn back and retreat to their own land. At age twenty-five after his father had died, he was crowned pharaoh, he was the third pharaoh of the nineteenth dynasty.

By the end of his reign King Ramses had accomplished more than any Egyptian pharaoh ever had! He built so many long lasting monuments along the Nile river, amongst them were the most famous ones Abu Simbel and Karnak, he made the egyptians into a fighting machine and a feared country by expanding the Egyptian empire to it’s greatest point. King Ramses also married 200 wives and had well over 100 children. And last but not least he had the second longest rule in ancient Egypt. Only king Pepi I was greater. And he broke a record by living for 96 years! The average life expectancy in egypt was about 30 years, he lived three times that amount.
