1.1 We communicate to learn and understand each other, allowing us to develop a relationship. By doing so we are sharing/expressing our views and personal preferences.

1.2 Communication is an important tool and a basic requirement to maintain a healthy and safe environment at work place. Reading through the journal, writing and sharing, communicating with other staff members, client, their friends and family members ensures effective team working and continuity of care.
1.3 It is important to pay attention to other’s facial and body reaction when communicating with them as you might have to adjust the way you are communicating to suit the individual.
It also give us a more in depth understanding of the other person’s feeling, happy, upset confused, sad.

2.1 Reasons we communicate with one another is to express feelings, so they can inform people of their wants and needs, they also communicate to build trust with people and to find out what name they prefer to be called. The person in questions will have their own preferred communication method and this can be learnt from speaking to their family and friends.

2.3 If I personally was not able to communicate effectively with a person then I ask a colleague, senior, family member who knows the client well, it could be my approach or lack of understanding a person that simply needs to change to start a bond and for the person to feel confident with me.

3.1 I can reduce communication barriers in my speech by sounding clear and calm. Choosing not speak in a lazy modern approach or slang. By being in calm, not a noisy environment. Understand cultural differences and body language.
