In the ancient Greek play Antigone by Sophocles, many of the characters died due to their unwillingness to live following a loved one's tragic death. Kreon, who valued his pride above all, lost everything. Kreon believed that he was responsible for the death of his own loved one’s and blamed his pride for his loss. However, Antigone, along with Haimon, and Eurydike were not killed by Kreon’s pride, but instead killed by love. In the end, nobody won, not the Gods, not Kreon, and not Antigone, but in the end it was love that prevailed, and love that conquered all.
