Being a gaming enthusiast, it is so exciting to see an object that reminds me of a game I spent hundreds of hours playing. The elephant in the sarcophagus panel with the Indian Triumph of Dionysus sparked my memories of a game set place in a fictional Himalayan country called Kyrat in the game Far Cry 4. The intriguing sculpture is by Roman and is currently placed in The Audrey Jones Beck Building of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Its dimensions are (34 ½ x 85 ¾ x 9 ½ in.). The sculpture was made out of white Marble in the late 2nd century AD. The sculpture depicts the return of the mythological god Dionysus after spreading the miracle of wine to India and the East. The sculpture is detailed yet some details are missing. I do not know whether this is intentional or it is because of damage; one lady has no hands and a boy is without a nose for example. It is a high relief sculpture because you can see all around some parts, the flying piece of cloth, for example, looks like it is mid-air. The sculpture is meant to be seen from one side. There is a lot of overlapping between the objects within the sculpture, so it might be hard to tell what exactly is happening, which is a good thing as it leaves something for the imagination. It is not clear that the sculpture is celebrative at first; one clear thing is that it looks impressive and there are many details to notice. The faces are not clear but some look clearly smiling and others look natural which is a fact that challenges the celebrative theme. The people in the sculpture are individually different in regards of body, hairstyle, and clothing.
