4: Who is the real murderer Lady Macbeth or Macbeth Lady Macbeth and Macbeth’s relationship started out sweat and loving. both being the best of friends they did everything together . The proof to this was in the letter he sent to her saying “my dearest partner in greatness”(Act 1 scene 5 lines 10) , he did this to inform her about the witches prophesies, which was the begging to a dying relationship between these two. They were very close, they shared everything, their love looked never ending. Even though other characters in the play contributed to the death, she played a bigger part in his murder , Yes Macbeth was the one that stabbed him but it was lady Macbeth that was pulling the strings from behind, controlling Macbeth like a little kid. His wife tricks and manipulates him in going on with the murder. Although the irony was Macbeth was planning on killing king Duncan but was hesitant, but his wife was the driving push he needed .The desire of the throne all started after Macbeth read the prophecy told by the witches’, she knew then that her husband had to be king. Although in Act 1 Scene 5 lines 17-18 , she said that he was “too full o’ the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way” she was basically saying that he was soft, and he is too nice, and she felt that will stop him from obtaining the crown. So she wanted to change him ,to what she felt was an ideal king. Even i her speech she makes references the need to do something evil in order to gain the crown.”The raven himself is hoarse That croaks the fate entrance of Duncan Under my battlements.
