Kendrick’s influence on his fans has made an impact on the critical issues and society. Lamar’s mix tape has highly acclaimed mix tape includes a song titled “Ignorance Is bliss” in which Lamar highlights gangster rap and street crime but ends each verse with “Ignorance is bliss” giving the message “we know not what we do”. Lamar has a big impact on teens and adults in society. His lyrics help teens & adults fight through pain and suffer, he talks about relationship status, he sometimes brings up the pass with segregation, he talks about losing the ones you love, going to college having a successful life, he has a big inspiration to all of his audiences. In summer of 2015 Lamar hosted a concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Las Angelus, which I attended last summer. He sang his newest hit singles and sang multiple songs from the album “To Pimp A Butterfly. For those who don’t know the album is the third studio album, which was released on March 15,2015, it was ranked as the best album of 2015 by many publications, and also Obama. Lamar described to Pimp a Butterfly as an “honest, fearful and unapologetic”. Kyle Anderson entertainment weekly described the album as “embracing the entire history of black American music”. At the end of the concert Lamar gave us the audiences a story about how he regretted all the bad things he has done in life he stated his famous quote “I don’t want to become that person reflecting on what has been done, what I’m doing now is the question, I’m only as good as my last word, my last hook, my last bridge” he also talks about how being a gangster and doing drugs isn’t the right path in life, and how we should stay in school and complete our educations with a bachelor’s degree.
