Shockingly, over one hundred thousand students fail their GCSEs every year due to lack of sleep. Most teenagers usually can’t get to sleep until the early hours of the morning, due to overactive hormones and worries that they have within their personal life. Yes teens have to get up early every morning, in order to get to school on time; although this is beneficial, as it teaches them how to get up early and be on time to their jobs later on in life, it still has a negative impact on their usual day to day life. If teenagers started school later on in the day it will make them more prepared for what they have to do when they actually go to school. I’m sorry if this speech isn’t arresting enough but I didn’t get much sleep last night and I can’t concentrate as its nine o’clock in the morning! …show more content…
The reason for students loosing concentration during the day is because their body clock tells them that it is the middle of the night. This is because they have already been up all night. Most students go to sleep at about 2 o’clock in the morning. As you may know all young adults need at least 9 hours of sleep every night. So if the student has to get up at about six every morning in order to get ready on time, then they would only be getting 4 hours of sleep, definitely not enough for a young adult. So would it really hurt if students start school later in the day, at about 11 o’clock instead on 9
