Some students are hampered by the late school start time while others prefer the extra sleep it provides. This causes a dispute over which start time works more optimally. An way to solve this issue is the addition of zero hour. While the thinking for the later start time is that students would get more sleep; however, due to the later start time students encounter difficulties with morning and afternoon traffic, after-school activities, and minimum study time. Students who plan to continue their career in college athletics are involved in teams that are not affiliated with Faith and practice after school. These students are hampered with their ability to practice with their teams due to a later school end time. These students need maximum amount of time after school to practice and study, and they would benefit from an earlier school time.
