Cultural traits and concepts are some of the many things Latin America is filled with. If we are to compare it to the traits and concepts here in the United States, there would be a handful of similarities and differences. The Caribbean has the malecón, which is one activity that is enjoyed among family and friends. It is considered a seafront promenade. If one is looking for the ideal location to stroll and to see an amazing view of the ocean then the malecón is the perfect place to go. La Habana, Cuba is a highly known location with a malecón. The average malecón is about 8 kilometers long. This is a cultural trait is also found in the United States among coastal states. In 1493, an Asian plant was brought over to the Spanish island now known as Haiti and the Dominican Republican by the famous Christopher Columbus.
