As a french painter, Toulouse-lautrec had many unique interests. Though there was one particular fascination with women that caught Lautrec’s attention. Lautrec often spent his spare time at brothels and bars, feeding his interest in the workers. Although he was mainly known for his scandalous paintings of prostitutes and dancers, Lautrec was also highly intrigued by graphic design.
Lautrec was born on November 24th, 1864 in Albi France. He is self taught, as he took up sketching before reaching the point of adolescence. Although Lautrec is a self taught artist, he was inspired to keep painting by his first teacher, Rene Princeteau.
