Have you ever heard of Lava Beds National Monument? Lava Beds National Monument is located near the California and Oregon state border. Some people consider it to be the " best kept secret." I for one have never been to Kava Beds National Monument. I would really love to go there for a class field trip. I would like to be one of the 130,000 visitors that go every year. Maybe you could take that into consideration.

Lava Beds National Monument is not a very known place. As you can tell it only gets 130,000 visitors a year compared to nearby competition Yosemite National Park. The reason I would like you to allow our 8th grade class to go is because of the intresting things we can learn and all the places we could visit. For an example, there are five main causes whom visitors seem to love to visit. The first is Skull Cave. Skull Cave was formed " when low lava tubes cooled on top of each other. Skull Cave keeps the cool air trapped inside, keeping the floor of the cave frozen and icy. The second cave is Crystal Ice Cave. Crystal Ice Cave is so cold that breathtaking ice formations hang from the ceiling. People who go have to have a tour guide to go and be at least twelve years old due to the nature of the loose rocky floors and slippery ice. The third is the Fern Cave. Fern Cave is mostly know for just having plenty of plants and animals that could not survive outside of the cave. The cave has been known to have refugee for natives because of the pictographs lining the wall. The fourth out of five is Golden Dome. Golden Dome is mostly known for the magical ceiling which ice created from the light reflecting off the water which gives it that gold tint. Last is the Valentine Cave. The Valentine Cave is only known for being discovered on Valentines Day in 1933 and also being the newest cave out of all
