Leadership Development Plan

After adding up all the scores, I found that I scored the highest on the honesty and integrity competency. The competency companion that I feel most enthusiastic about is trustworthy. If a person excels at this competency companion, the person will be considered extremely reliable, honest and truthful. Trustworthiness is a competency that is essential for an individual in order to be successful in the field of Human Resources field. Trust is a basic element of a functioning relationship within the organization. By excelling in this competency I will be able to build relationships with my coworkers and my managers. Trustworthiness will also give me an opportunity to grow within the organization by accepting the challenge of new projects. By excelling at this competency companion, I will be able to keep realistic promises, and honor them by following through. If I can show my coworkers that I am reliable, they will learn to trust me. If I tell my coworker that I am willing to stay late one day a week in order to complete necessary tasks, then he/she will know exactly what to expect, and I will clearly be able to show that I have kept their word.

I will be able develop this competency by being exceptionally reliable, honest and truthful. My goal is to be extremely reliable when it comes to completing different tasks and projects. Honesty is also the key for developing trustworthiness. I will make sure that I am being honest when I am communicating with my classmates, colleagues and boss. Also I will make sure that any information that is given to the managers and colleagues is absolutely true. By improving in these three characteristics I will be able to develop competency companion of trustworthiness.

Developing strong relationships with my co-workers and taking the time to learn about who they are and what they need is the key for trustworthiness. Genuine trustworthiness must be built on a willingness and commitment to know and honor the individuals you work with. If I can develop intimacy and rapport with my coworkers, they will be willing and able to place their trust in me when it comes to broaching difficult subjects and asking for help. Also in order to develop this competency, I will try to model myself after the leader who possesses this competency in the organization.
