What is “LEADERSHIP”?
Leadership in simple English language is the action of leading a group of people or an organization by a leader with a motive/goal to be achieved. Hence, the leadership skills gives the vision & mission to the followers of a leader and enhance the performance to accomplish the desired goal. The aim of having leadership characteristic in a leader is to judge the requirements/ needs, executing the plan in reference to all the state of affairs and above all of this taking initiation and motivate others to make things happen accordingly. 
1. The five most important characteristics of an effective supply chain leader according to my point of view are:
A. Ability to anticipate the strategy’s pros cons: the strategy is the way to achieve any goal and helps to make the follower or influencer competent to know the upcoming stage in advance. To understand this, the CHESS game is the best example in which a leader make a strategy and its follower knows the next step in advance which helps to achieve the goal. The ability of foreseeing the outcome of strategy also helps to reduce the chances of failure as the causes of failure will get rectify before it effects the outcome. 
B. Associative: the leader who is associative, brings group of people together and with that association the leader makes a team where each and every follower becomes a pillar and support their leader. On the other hand, the initiative nature of a leader helps to motivate its follower in influence of whom they put all their strength to achieve a particular goal.
C. Advanced knowledge about state of affairs of an organization: a leader must be capable to have all round knowledge about its organization. By knowing about all the state of affairs of organization the leader can develop such strategy to accomplish its task where all the affairs of the organsation are taken under consideration and helps to improve performance as well as outcome avoiding the components which can affect the result. 
D. Empathetic behavior: when we say empathetic behavior is meant to be the understanding to know the need of others. The empathy helps the leader to understand the loop pole in the strategy as well as clear out the root cause for weak performance. As leader has responsibility to execute plan with a help of team and if in any case a team member is is not performing up to the mark then the leader with empathetic behavior help the member to improve and excel in performance. 
E. Communication & negotiation skills: in whole life a person need to communicate to achieve the desirable output. With the of clear communication leader can clarify the goal and can explain all the aspects of the planned strategy to execute. With all this, communication is the best way to find and rectify the problem which cause poor performance. Proper communication is appropriate for delivering & receiving message which affects the plan of action. On the other hand, negotiation is very important to be part of skills as it helps the leader to get work done in its own way to get the desirable output.

The characteristics which needs improvement among above is “associative”.
Well as me toned and illustrated in the table the most improvement needed characteristic is “associative”, hence to improve it some action will take place for long time as practice makes man perfect but still I will do repeadtly after certain period of gap..
