Many times in life when we face hardships we tend to give up, however in the case of Malcolm X he chose to make the best of his situation. In the article "Learning To Read," by Malcolm X, he discussed how he did not allow his hardships in jail to affect his learning experience. There are many examples of people who took a bad situation and turned it around to benefit them. Many situations are really hard such as being in prison or attending a school where the learning environment did not provide a sufficient learning experience. It all began when Malcolm was in eighth grade he dropped out of school and began to sell drugs. At the age of 20 he was arrested and charged for burglary.
