Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is the most significant court case listed for me. The case is about Lilly Ledbetter getting a discriminated pay in her workplace. She had been working in Goodyear for more than 19 years and was getting paid about 40% less than the male workers there. The jury ruled in her favor at first and awarded her with a large amount of money, but that money was taken away when Goodyear also appealed. The reason Lilly’s case was later dismissed was because of the time limit [under the Title VII under the Civil Rights Act] of 180 days. It stated that the employee had 180 days after the last discriminatory paycheck was received to file a discrimination claim. Even in 2016 we can see many women getting discriminated
