3 ) The student union rep says “ If we have to pay for our education, we need value for our money “ and she believes that lectures spend too much time pretending to do research and they are out of touch with reality. However Alison Taylor says that with the increase in fees she believes that the lectures will not be able to do research or write papers because they will be expected to spoon feed the students much quicker. For example she thinks that professor Brain Cox should be allowed to do his research slowly and carefully with the financial support he needs.

4) Alison Taylor in document 2 believes that the reduction in university fees will have a negative effect on the progress and development of research and new thinking in society. Jamed agrees with Alison when he says “ They produce the best graduates and the best research” However Samson disagrees when he say’s “ Some lecturers are getting away with poorly delivered tutorials, cancelling lectures and not marking work”. Jamed believes that if they charge ridiculous fees the student’s will stop coming and Samson says if they charge higher fees they want better courses.

5) In my opinion the increase in tuition fees will cause students to ask for a guarantee at the end of uni e.g. To be able to offer them jobs at the end so if someone does pe to be able to find a job within pe so maybe a sports teacher. So that will have a negative affect on university so the university will have to do more work and the students will be able to pay their debts back.
