In the article “Legal, Academic Equality Nonsense,” author Walter Williams discusses about how the world is based on racist views and how we [as people] discriminate others not only by their ethnicity and backgrounds, but also by someone’s gender. Williams offers several reasons why we think and at the way we do. First, the statistics of America’s diversity, overrepresentation, and racial discrimination about our nation’s percentage in opportunities. Second, geographical disparities are involved in the United States and also internationally. Third, sex discrimination between men and women in life and death events. And fourth, the equality and inequality in today’s society. For most of the first two reasons, Williams provides multiple statistics about both the Jews and blacks, for example Jews during the 20th century were “35 percent of American and 22 percent of the world’s Nobel Prize Winners” (E6) and “blacks are only 2 percent of the NHL’s players” (E6) compared to other professional basketball and football players making millions of dollars. He also explains the geographical disparities by stating “the population statistics for North and South Dakota, Iowa, Maine, Montana, and Vermont show that not even 1 percent of their population is black”. Jews are questioned about their talent and skills and that belong to other ethnicities with the same excellence. Blacks and other races are being judged of their color and talent for example, the professional ice hockey players vs. professional basketball/football players, and how the hockey players could be racists against other professional careers. Lastly, disparities are not just happening nationwide but also
