Statistically, in their first year of driving 1 in 5 16-year-old drivers will have an accident. Another statistic shows that every year, over 6 new drivers, aged 16-19, die in a car crash. Just how many young adults must die before we realize that there is a problem? Now some may believe that not all young drivers should be penalized due to the deaths of a few who may have been irresponsible and completely at fault. And even believe that the driving tests should harder to stop incompetent teens from getting their license. However, a stop could be put to all deaths and possible accidents with simplifying just moving the legal driving age from 16 to 18.
