The Legislative Branch:
The main job of the Legislative Branch is to make laws. The Legislative Branch is composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The two make the U.S Congress. The two houses of our nation's legislative branch is the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Constitution provides at least one representative for each state. Originally there was one representative for each 30,000 people. Today there is one representative per several hundred thousand people. The Senate has 100 members and the House of Representatives there are 435 representatives. The leader of our House of Representatives is the Speaker of the House. The leader combines several roles and is chosen by the Speaker of the House. The leaders of the United States Senate are Mitch McConnell, and Chuck Schumer. The Constitution gives the House of Representatives the sole power to impeach and official, and it makes the Senate the sole court for impeachment trials. The President is the head of the Executive Branch, then it goes to the Vice President, then to the Cabinet. The constitution provides for an indirect method of election called the Electoral college. To be elected a candidate must receive half of the 538 electoral votes available, or 270 votes to win. A presidential term lasts for 4 years but the most someone can be President is 2 terms or maximum of ten years. Foreign Policy is a nations plan for dealing with other nations and it makes the key decisions about relations the U.S has with other Countries In the world. The goal of foreign policy is national security. The Cabinet is an advisory group chosen by the President to help accomplish the work of the executive
