Australia is the smallest of the world’s continents. It is located between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It is a large landmass that is surrounded by Papua New Guinea and Indonesia to the north and the Islands of New Zealand to the right. Within Australia you have six states. These are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. There are also two major mainland territories, which are the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory. The landmass of Australia is about 7.692 million square kilometers. The mainland of Australia, along with Tasmania, is surrounded by many of thousands of small islands including numerous larger islands. The coasts have a lot in defining state and national boundaries. He apologizes for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, their communities, and their country. These kids are deemed as the Stolen Generations. Rudd writes about addressing these problems and embracing solutions for the past grief and new solutions for any ongoing issues. He also states that the Parliament will never do anything that will detract from mutual respect and equality among all Australians.
