Australia is the smallest of the world’s continents. It is located between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It is a large landmass that is surrounded by Papua New Guinea and Indonesia to the north and the Islands of New Zealand to the right. Within Australia you have six states. These are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. There are also two major mainland territories, which are the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory. The landmass of Australia is about 7.692 million square kilometers. The mainland of Australia, along with Tasmania, is surrounded by many of thousands of small islands including numerous larger islands. The coasts have a lot in defining state and national boundaries. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd created the letter in 2008. He apologizes past mistreatment. Rudd apologizes for the laws and policies of successive Parliaments and governments that have inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss on the indigenous peoples. He apologizes for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, their communities, and their country. These kids are deemed as the Stolen Generations. Rudd writes about addressing these problems and embracing solutions for the past grief and new solutions for any ongoing issues. He also states that the Parliament will never do anything that will detract from mutual respect and equality among all Australians. Rudd also makes the government responsible for what happened in the past. This is very interesting, and it is very true to the integrity that the Australian government wants to strive
