Abigail Adams’s letter symbolizes two main different tones towards her son. One of these tones is a general concern for her son’s safety. The main reason for her concern is because her son is at sea where there can be pirates, or Britain the enemy at the time both of which could wind up attacking the ship. The other tone of her letter is allusion to the fact that Abigail is also happy that her son is with her father. The main reason for this is because her son is gaining a valuable experience with his father.
One of the main reasons that Abigail feels that her son is getting a valuable experience with his father is because she knows that her son is getting to see what his father dose in his line of work. One of the other reasons that she is glad that her son is with his father is because she knows that he will without a doubt get a much better education while at sea with his father because women in that time couldn’t get an education.
