The first amendment rights are right to worship freely, to assemble, and to criticize the government. The first amendment protects our most basic rights yet can have a huge toll on our lives without it. If one shall have an opinion about a subject then he/she can and will speak about it. One cannot be told who and what they can praise because it goes along with the first amendment as well.
Libel is the use of false claims about someone in any form. Slander also denotes false statements that harm a person’s reputation, but it is committed orally or in any other transient form. Libel vs. Slander is important for journalism because when a writer wants to speak on a subject he cannot use words that may harm a person and also cannot
