In the case Liebeck v. McDonald's Restaurants plaintiff Stella Liebeck was suing for McDonald's Restaurant for spilling hot coffee on her lap. The plaintiff Stella Liebeck at the time was 79 years old and she was not driving when this incident had happened. She at the time was with her grandson Chris. On her way home they had both stopped at McDonald’s drive thru to eat breakfast she had got a coffee. Chris the plaintiffs grandson had stopped the car so she can add her creamer and sugar in her coffee.
