Life Styles Inventory Paper
Who am I? Where do I come from? What am I doing? Where am I going? And How do I get there are all questions we ask ourselves in one form or another throughout our lives. America is a place where one is not confined to who or what they are now. In fact one is in control of whom or what they will be tomorrow. In effect one can change the direction of one’s life. The key to doing so is to first understand one’s self. I recently took a life styles inventory survey to learn and get a better understanding of myself. By looking at the other scores and their descriptions I would have to say that they show I am good at working with others and have a genuine concern for them. This enables me to convince others to work together. The thinking styles that show that affect are the affiliative, humanistic, oppositional, and approval. Where I think that I would have to be careful is that some of my scores indicate that I may have a problem being assertive or willing to take risks. As a manager I would think that I would have to be able to take risks and be able to speak up when needed.
Genesis
I would have to say that I think that the majority of my thinking styles came about because of the way I was brought up by my parents. They always told me that I would have to work for what I wanted and that anything was possible. When I was very young I became sick and had to be hospitalized. The sickness left me with a few learning disabilities that made school very difficult. Without the support of my parents who knows what I would be. They constantly told me how good I was and that I can do it. I think that that is why the majority of my thinking styles are fairly positive. I do think that I scored high in the dependent style is due to my current situation and outlook on the economy. After all the descriptions that the human
