After summertime begins everything starts to heat up, so to get cool people have to stay in swimming pools, lakes, and oceans. However, summer is also a drowning season because many individual are unskilled at swimming. So to save them from drowning, others become lifeguards. Lifeguard is defined as supervisor to others in case of any emergency. To become a lifeguard a person needs to get fit, then get a certificate, and lastly find a job. An individual that wants to be a lifeguard has to be in great shape. All lifeguards have to follow the 10/20 rule, which states that a person has to respond to a potential problem in 10 seconds, and a lifeguard has to get to a victim in 20 seconds. One of the ways to train her body is by practicing swimming. One may want to join a swim team, where a coach will push her to be better. Also, it is where she will learn different swimming techniques like freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and breastroke. Those styles will work out different body muscles and make her a stronger swimmer. The best way to start is by calling local pools and lakes. Most places will start hiring a month before a summer season starts. Before an interview, a person may want to practice answering questions. On the night of the interview a person should get a good night sleep. After waking up she should eat breakfast, and she needs to wear a professional outfit to an interview. A person then must arrive 20 to 30 minutes earlier. She should be friendly to the interviewer because there is a higher chance a company will hire her. After knowing that she got hired she will need to come back for a tour of a working place. At the start she will be paid from 8-12 dollars an hour.
