The Constitution states that all men are created equal. Civil Rights are defined as the personal rights of the individual citizen. But have you ever taken the time to look around and see if this is true? Not all men are created equal and not everyone has their civil rights. If all men are created equal then all people would have the same access to education, money, health care, and food. If everyone had the same civil rights then some people wouldn’t have to look a curtain way, act a curtain way, be treated differently. Throughout my learning service, I met many people. People of many backgrounds and beliefs. Everyone that walks into Lifelong is a unique individual but all share a similarly. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. As long as the disease is here, so are they. Lifelong’s mission is to empower people living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS and/or other chronic conditions to lead healthier lives. Lifelong provides a variety of things for their clients. Food, for example, for people living with HIV or other chronic illness, a nourishing meal can make a huge difference in the struggle of wellness. Another thing is housing, when people have a safe place to live, they are less likely to transmit their infection to others. They provide a variety of housing options for their clients. At Lifelong, they do whatever it takes to improve the lives of those living with a chronic disease such as HIV/AIDS.
