At just the age of six this remarkable girl exhibited such an amazing gift for poetry, which led to a very fulfilling and successful career in writing. Zaran’s poems are rich of potential. She employs a wide variety of literary devices to make her poems appeal to every person. Her writing is consumed with emotion; just as readers, we are just captivated by the two different mediums. Through her writing, Lisa Zaran shows tons of emotion and creates a visual that is more conceptual in manner than relatable. She continues to share her work, and provide beautiful poems with lots of emotion and sentiment.

One author writes, she stemmed a strong interest in poetry from listening to her brothers’ music and sought inspiration from artists like the Beatles and Luciano Pavaratti(Finchman 2). She began to write a poem collection, and even expanded her achievements by founding a poetry journal, Contemporary American Voices. In 1990 she married and within two years had two children. According to one source, Zaran began to write “The sometimes girl” in the early years of her marriage. So far Lisa has had a very successful career writing some amazing pieces such as Girl, Talking to my Father who’s ashes sit in a closet and listen, and I went looking for God.
