What is a rhetorical analysis or a rhetorical advertisement? Most people have busy lives, they look at advertisements for exactly what they are, advertisements. How I, as a college student, and many others, that have to write and analyze information frequently, we see beyond the advertisement. We see past the ketchup bottle, the hot man in the zesty Italian dressing commercial, and the McDonald’s, “I’m lovin’ it.” They all have meanings behind them, rhetorical or literal, maybe the ketchup and Italian dressing is organic, or McDonald’s fries are made from real potatoes, we just have to take the time to see them as more than advertisements.
