Place yourself in London, England on a chilled spring day as a 17 year old boy. Imagine yourself in a pub with two of your best mates, sinking your teeth into a juicy, medium rare, 8 ounce burger with an overeasy egg, hollandaise sauce, and avocado stacked on top with triple fried chips on the side. Then imagine walking outside and getting chased by a mob of 30 people and beat by people who just shared the same meal as you. Now place yourself in the same pub a week earlier with your family. You get on a plane with your choir mates, leaving your family for a while as pre teen. Fast forward a couple days and imagine being starving, delusional, and almost mentally insane. You think you see a monster, but it’s just a dead body stuck in a parachute being controlled by the wind and tree it's stuck in. …show more content…
There are hundreds of occasions where these imaginations are a reality. In London, a 17 year old boy named Stephen Lawrence, was beaten on April 2nd, 2017, by a mob after being at a pub with his mates. In the book, Lord of the Flies written by William Golding in 1954, a boy named Simon was brutally beaten to death by his friends while on a stranded island for a couple days. This is one example of how the book, Lord of the Flies is full of timeless situations such as mob violence. Mob violence has occurred and affected society since pre history, and will continue to affect society until the end of time or the world sustains a utopia. Although Simon’s death and the death of the teen in London were from routed from different motives, both are examples of the destructiveness of mob
