In the book A Raisin In the sun dreams of moving up and living a better life style is the goal. The characters have many difficulties achieving their dreams. Lorraine Hansberry the author show us how the Youngers are a black family in 1950, dreams of getting out of the ghetto. They want to move in to a house with a backyard with a garden, and live a better life. Mama has many difficulties in addition to having to make tough decisions together with her family she continues to dream big. Regardless of all the obstacles involved the theme is to keep dreaming, try to achieve goals and in order to persevere. The youngers dreams seem easier because Mama is left $10,000 from her husband insurance money. The Younger’s bought a new home, Clybourne park. This was an all white neighborhood and people of color were not accepted. Mr. Linder was in control of Clybourne Park housing, and truly tries hard to convince the Younger family not to move in. They do not want people in Clybourne park who are not white. To make the point clear, he bribes the Youngers with money not to move. Indeed Walter was going to take the deal. After much consideration he then refuses the money offer. Mama is very proud of Walter ,“ He finally comes into his manhood today, didn't he?” Walter finally grows
