The Los Angeles Lakers are a basketball team from Los Angeles, California. The Lakers were founded in 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were created by Ben Berger and Morris Chaflen. The name was chosen because of the Minnesota state motto “Land of 10,000 Lakes”. The Lakers are known for their championships and the famous players who created their legacies there. Their rivals are the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers, both located in California. The Lakers biggest win was against the Golden State Warriors in 1972 where they won by 63 points. The final score of that game was 162-99, an NBA record.
