In 1945 when Hitler had power over Germany he sent thousands of people out to death camps and marches where they would eventually be killed. The prisoners were held hostage and tortured until the point they couldn’t take it anymore so they were killed or they died. The book Night is a story about Elie Wiesel and his long journey with Faith. In the beginning of Night Elie Wiesel is a big believer of God, throughout the book Elie begins to lose his faith, not understanding why God would let these terrible things happen to so many people continuously.

At the beginning of the book Elie is a strong believer in Faith. He is very interested in learning about religions and how they work, so he seeks out Moishe. Moishe explains how there are many ways Elie can enter Heaven. Moishe says “There are a thousand and one gates allowing entry into the orchard of mystical truth. Every human being his own gate.
