Have you ever stole food from a neighbors house and ran as fast as you can away from the person you stole that food from. So I have read about Louie Zamperini leaving a footprint in the Olympic games and also in stranger’s homes. Louie has set many American high school records and has also gone to the Olympics in Berlin. Louie has joined the military and is about to join WWII. I will be talking about how Louie grew up, his running career and also his Olympic run.

Louie started running when he was in high school. He found himself succeeding in running very easily. His brother would nag on him being a runner himself he wanted Louie to be the best he could at it. Pete (Louie’s brother) would train and rag on Louie every chance he could so Louie could excel at running. When Louie joined running in High School he would find himself sidelined and unable to participate in his passion. Once he was able to participate he set United States high school records and quickly gained attention all over the country. Louie showed the country that records are feasible to break. After Gaining all this attention Louie made it to the Olympics in Berlin. Prior to the Olympics Louie would train until the skin would rub off the bottom of his toes. “Norman slumped one leg of the other and starred at his foot the skin was detached from the soul.”(Louie 28) Louie was adroit at running he was one of the best runners of his time. We can also say that Louie left a big imprint on the running world.

Louie’s Olympic Run was something that many runners don’t get to experience. When training for the Olympics he would often find himself in pain from the weather being so hot that it would burn the bottoms of his shoe.
