Louis Armstrong was born in New Orleans and is one of the greatests jazz musicians. He had a harder childhood because his father left shortly after he was born, he then lived with his grandmother in his childhood. Louis Armstrong alway loved music and one of his fist instruments was a cornet that he bought at a thrift shop. In third grade he dropped out of school and started singing on the streets to get money for his family. In his teenage years he sold newspapers and unloading bananas from boats. Later on his life he started performing on steamboats and during this time he learned how to read and write music. In 1922 he started playing in a band in Chicago and later on moved to New York. After a few years in New York he went back to Chicago
