Kenya’s Religion
Just like the people in the United States have their own way of believing in the Lord and worshipping differently, Kenya has four different types of religious. Religious Beliefs, Religious Practitioners, Ritual and Holy places, Death and Afterlife are the three types of religions. More than 75 percent of the people are Christians in Kenya. Muslims make up about 10 percent of the 75 percent of the Christian’s in Kenya. Most people in Kenya incorporate their traditional beliefs in their own practice of being a Christians which they had a lot of tension between the Christians and Kenyans. The Religious Practitioners have they own way of worshiping the Lord they call on the spirits. (Stanford) The Diviners are supposed to bring the rain doing the time of drought. They use these things to harm someone. Rituals and Holy Places in the beginning of a rainy season observed with celebrations they have many days to eat, sing, dance, and pray for the health of the animals. The boys and girls are initiation at the age of eighteen and that’s when they are able to get married, get their ears pierced, get their heads shaved, and mark their faces with white earth.
