Love Has to be Real

True love is unique. It isn't something that can happen to people in seconds. Love between people has to be real, they need to have a connection . They both need to commit to their love. In the play A Midsummer Night's Dream, written by William Shakespeare, love is being forced on many characters in the opening scene. This is demonstrated with Hermia's father Egeus, the naughty fairies actions on the Athenians and Oberon's attempt to take control of Titania.

A father that directs their son or daughter to think they are always doing the best for them but does not think about their son or daughter. In the opening scene of the play we see Egeus attempting to direct Hermia into marrying Demetrius. Egeus is explaining

The flower juice magic was used on demetrius and was accidently used on lysander too. This flower juice magic could make anyone fall in love with a certain person with a squeeze of the flower on their eyelids. Puck says “ This flower force in stirring love./ Night and silence! who is here?/ weeds of athens he doth wear:/ this is he my master said. (2.2 75-78). Puck is helping the fairies to force love upon helena and demetrius when they do not love each other until they reach the end of the play. They also mess with hermia and lysander as something else could have happened to them for example they could have gotten married somewhere else and no one would have found out,and it would make egeus livid. Helena says “ but you must flout my insufficiency?/ good troth ,you do me wrong good sooth, you/do.(2.2. 134-135). Helena is saying that she is unattractive and is wondering why lysander would love her when he said he doesn't like helena and she looks ugly. Playing with people's hearts never ends happily.
