“He doesn’t have to be a savior,” “there’s no one to save” wrote Pitchfork a widely known Chicago daily internet publication for criticizing songs, albums, and artists when asked about Lupe Fiasco’s song “words I never said”. Wasalu Muhuammad Jaco also known as Lupe Fiasco is a 32 years old American rapper and song writer. He also owns few clothing lines. Lupe Fiasco captured the nation’s attention when his album “Food & Liquor” was debuted in 2006. He then signed with Atlantic Records where under their contract he released multiple songs. Lupe was not into hip hop at a young age, he wasn’t into sexist lyrics, drinking, and materialism because his Islamic faith has taught against these things. Lupe Fiasco faced his biggest difficulties with his song “Words I never said”, therefore that’s why I pick this song to write about. Even though his parents were Muslims and didn’t want their son becoming a rapper he still managed to hide in his father’s basement and start his rapping career there. When he was 19 years old he joined a band named Da Pak which was involved with gangsta rapping at the time. After Lupe made his first song with Da Pak he realized that gangsta rapping was changing him into someone else, and he didn’t like that at all.
