Macbeth Foreshadowing Analysis

I choose the first prompt because there was great foreshadowing with Macbeth's dream. He was experiencing “cursed thoughts” (2.1.8) and trouble sleeping. Macbeth had a dream in which he was presented with a floating dagger in front of Duncan. He doesn’t know if it is real or not he grabs the dagger and misses. Then he realizes it was just a figment of his imagination. He is startled by the dream, I would be too. He is using his imagination in ways he’s not in control of and I believe it’s all paranoia based on the fact he has to kill his dad the following night. Lady Macbeth is just anticipating the death of Duncan and her husband killing him. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth talk and she basically pep talks him preparing him for the kill. When Macbeth reaches Duncan’s room he has the dagger in his hand and kills Duncan. At the same time of the stab he heard Chamberlains fishing up their pray and he attempted to say amen in an effort to cleanse his doing but he chocked on his own words. Everyone was Jolted they had no idea why anyone would do something like this to their King. Lady Macbeth fainting, faking the emotion and acting like she doesn’t know what happened. She gets help and is moved into somewhere she can be cared for. Macbeth Hides his emotions as well even though most of them are real the biggest one being guilt. Macbeth has to deal with the fact that he killed his own father. Malcolm and Donalbain Flee the scene leading everyone to think that they are the one’s who murdered Duncan.
