Have you ever met a greedy person? What about seeing other people being greedy? The theme of greed in Macbeth is still continuing to relate to modern society today. Macbeth was greedy for power. There are countless examples of greedy people today. Greed can cause something very serious like what Macbeth has been through. But greed does not have to be something serious.
Greed is when people want more of something than you really need in expense of others. In the play Macbeth, Macbeth was greedy for power and murdered King Duncan to get his power. “Thou sure and firm-set earth, /Hear not my steps, which way they walk, for fear /Thy very stones prate of my whereabout, /And take the present horror from the time, /Which now suits with it. Whiles I threat, he lives. Words to the heat of deeds too cold breath gives” (Shakespeare 2.1.69-74). When Macbeth was saying this quote, his greed was taking over him. Just like what Macbeth was going through, there are plenty of people today that their greed is taking over them and they can’t control them.

But greed does not have to be something serious. But no matter if it's in the past or if it happens today, people who are greedy regrets what they did.
