In William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, it shows how Macbeth slowly drives himself insane at the thought of becoming king. “I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.” (2.1 34). Macbeth sees an invisible dagger which is not sane. This is before he’s going to kill Duncan which his ambition to become king has driven him to do. “Prithee, see there! Behold! Look! Lo!” (3.4 69). Macbeth is seeing Banquo’s ghost after getting him murdered because he felt Banquo was in the way of him becoming king. “I have lived long enough:...” (5.3 22).
