The interpretation most valid for Macbeth is that it was destined to happen . Although Macbeth committed such a shameless crime , we can not conclude that he is a heartless killer. Throughout the play Macbeth questions whether or not he should kill king Duncan which illustrates his humanity . One example of this is the moment after he kills Duncan he makes the statement “will all neptune’s ocean wash this blood from my hand “, this illustrates the guilt Macbeth feels . Macbeth’s guilt keeps him from enjoying his new thrones and riches . In reality , Macbeth is not a wicked individual , but a tragic hero who only does what he believes he has to do .
