Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of the Indian Independence Movement in British-ruled India, who endured many challenges along the path of influence. Determination through personal experiences has motivated Mahatma Gandhi through bringing about nonviolence and freedom, posing influence on others to follow in his footsteps, and shaping his outlook on other human rights issues. Gandhi mainly focused on non-violence acts and civil liberties issues such as his liberation of India and his non-violence movements. This quote shows that Gandhi believes that other people will be inclined to help spread the cause of nonviolence and bring about bigger and greater change. According to Biography.com, “Satyagraha remains one of the most potent philosophies in freedom struggles throughout the world today, and Gandhi’s actions inspired future human rights movements around the globe, including those of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in the United States and Nelson Mandela in South Africa”. Both these quotes show the impact Gandhi’s influence can have on people to make change for the better. Mahatma Gandhi has been motivated by determination through personal experiences to bring about nonviolence and freedom, shaped precedent for future human rights issues, and has motivated others to do the same. With his civil liberties movements and freedom goals, Gandhi has overall inspired many more people to follow in his footsteps of nonviolence.
